Kris "skinnyk" Morron is and always has been a dreamer. 

His curiosity about the world and appetite for exploration has led him down many creative paths. As a musician, conductor, writer, sound engineer, comic book editor, and owner of Sombrero Brothers Productions, LLC, Kris is fueled by:

As a performer, composer, arranger, educator, and business proprietor, Kristopher Morron has seen all sides of the music business. He has been a member of, recorded with, and composed for the award-winning groups, The Aphrodesiatics, Mifune, Trepanning Trio, and Revolution Brass Band. Mifune toured the country and opened for acts such as Brazilian Girls, Grammy award winners, Ozomatli, and Cleveland Reggae legends, First Light.  Revolution Brass Band opened for many world-class musicians including Antibalas and Trombone Shorty.  In 2015, Kris performed with rock legend Noel Gallagher and his High Flying Birds

Kris is a three-time nominee in the “Best Horn” category for the Cleveland Scene/Free Times Music Awards.

In addition to playing the trombone, Kris also enjoys performing on the guzheng. He has written and recorded songs for guzheng with bands such as Mifune and Trepanning Trio.  In 2012 he released an album of guzheng improvisations titled, Cloudlands which featured saxophonist, Dan Wenninger, and cellist, Andrea Glass.

Kris is an accomplished composer and arranger as well. Numerous groups have played his arrangements, including the Lakewood High School Symphonic Orchestra, the nationally acclaimed Lakewood Project, Carlos Jones and the P.L.U.S. Band, and Champion Bubblers International. In 2013, he produced a 20th Anniversary concert for Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas, which featured Kris conducting a 20-piece chamber orchestra performing his arrangements of music from the movie. 

Kris developed his conducting skills both as an educator and as a graduate conductor of the Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony (2010-2015). During his time with this group, he had the opportunity to conduct many outstanding compositions, including Ghost Train (composed by Eric Whitacre), Danzon No.2 (by Arturo Márquez), Old Stories From The Western Provinces (by Yu Jianfnag), and Catch Me If You Can (by John Williams and featuring soloist Greg Banaszak).

In 2014, Kris was the Executive Producer, boom operator, sound editor, and composer on the web series RINGER$

While Kris continues to write new music and record, he continues to explore new ways to tell stories.
In 2020 he co-wrote and edited the comic book series, Peerless.
In 2021, Kris wrote original music for the animated short Astra Shift, created the web series Score Sessions, and was appointed Music Director/Conductor of the Contemporary Youth Orchestra in Cleveland, Ohio.
